Who We Are

Uganda Global Forum (UGF) is a legally registered non-profit platform established to strengthen structured, sustainable, and results-oriented Ugandan diaspora engagement worldwide. Designed as a structured ecosystem rather than a one-off initiative, the Forum creates clear pathways for engagement across policy, knowledge exchange, investment, culture, and community well-being while also investing in youth and intergenerational leadership to sustain diaspora engagement over time.

UGF organizes participation through institutionally anchored pathways with clear scopes, reliable coordination, and consistent documentation and learning, enabling Government, development partners, and other stakeholders to engage diaspora actors in a transparent, practical, and accountable way.

UGF operates globally in support of existing national frameworks and government-led diaspora engagement efforts, and it complements and connects existing diaspora groups, initiatives, and associations rather than competing with them.

What We Do

UGF provides a central coordination platform that brings together new, existing, and emerging diaspora efforts into clear, structured pathways that institutions can engage with confidently and consistently. The Forum offers an organising architecture that connects diaspora communities to one another and to government institutions, academia, the private sector, and development partners. In doing so, it strengthens cohesion and improves information flows across the wider diaspora engagement ecosystem.

Why UGF Matters

Uganda Global Forum applies a systems approach to diaspora engagement, treating it as an interconnected ecosystem rather than a set of isolated activities. We recognize that lasting results come from coordination, feedback, learning, and adaptation across multiple actors, including diaspora communities, government institutions, academia, the private sector, and development partners, each with different mandates and incentives.

How We Work

The Forum’s approach is guided by a commitment to clarity, collaboration, and impact. We work to avoid duplication of effort by coordinating with partners both abroad and at home, focusing on filling gaps and addressing bottlenecks in Uganda’s diaspora engagement ecosystem so that collective efforts translate into practical, measurable outcomes. We do this through;

Our role is to complement existing efforts by creating a platform where diaspora knowledge, ideas, and leadership can be effectively organized and applied.
